First of all, it was good that the accommodation was very clean. The condition of the room was very good. The view of the hotel was nice and the swimming pool inside the hotel was clean. If you walk a little further from the swimming pool, you will also find the beach. It's not a private beach, but there aren't many people, so you can enjoy it enough. We also took yoga sessions on the beach. It included breakfast, and the food was delicious. When I went scuba diving in the morning, they packed me a lunch box. When I ate at the restaurant, they gave me a Sri Lankan-style breakfast. Most of their food was not salty and delicious, so we only ate at the hotel throughout the trip. Of course, it's hard to find a good restaurant outside.

The location is perfect, just in front of the lagoon ideal for kitesurfing. The kitchen is very good, not too big menu but very tasty, they have many local food to try. The rooms are comfortable, the pool and the garden look beatiful and are groomed well. The staff is very kind.

The hotel is great, clean and spacious, located just by the kitesurfing beach so it is perfect for kitesurfers. There are beautiful trees and palm trees in the surrounding garden, big swimming pool and very kind staff. We were more than happy to stay there and regretted we couldn't stay longer. The restaurant offers very tasty food for good price. I only regret that Sri Lankan people don't support local dogs that wander in the area, scared of humans and terribly hungry. If there was a special fund to support the animals I would definitely pay more for our stay so that the dogs can get fed. Apart from that we loved our stay and we will definitely be back! The place in our opinion is better than Kitesurfing Lanka that is next door.

The breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent. Authentic Sri lankan which is what we requested. The food prices were very good value and the amount of food was plenty for anybody. The price of the hotel was very reasonable considering how close we were to the beaches of Kalpitiya. The pool area was lovely and well maintained gardens. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel organised our dolphin watching tour which I highly recommend. The experience is fantastic and well worth the money. Overall do not have a bad word to say about Blue Whale Resort and would definitely return if we come back to Kalpitiya in the future.
